Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist

Zoe is a warm and experienced psychodynamic counsellor who works with children, teenagers and adults across a wide range of settings.

Alongside her psychodynamic approach, she can also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques where these may be helpful for the individual.

Experience

Zoe has worked therapeutically for more than 15 years and has been part of the Teenage Mental Health team since 2019, making her one of our longest-serving therapists.

Over the years, she has worked with a number of counselling organisations, including Ipswich Counselling Centre, Mentis Counselling Centre and the Northgate Psychotherapy Department in Colchester. This included helping adults affected by trauma, sexual abuse and difficulties linked to addiction and rehabilitation.

Since 2013, Zoe has worked extensively with children and teenagers across primary and secondary schools throughout Norfolk and Suffolk. She also spent five years as a school counsellor in Norfolk, supporting young people with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and the wider pressures of school and adolescence.

Alongside her counselling work, she also works as a reflexologist and holistic therapist, bringing a broader perspective on wellbeing and the importance of feeling safe, calm and cared for within therapeutic work.

  • MA Psychodynamic Counselling with Children and Adolescents
  • Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling for Adults

Zoe’s approach

Zoe believes therapy should feel supportive, steady and free from judgement. She understands that trust can take time, particularly for young people who may have been through difficult or painful experiences.

Thoughtful, calm and compassionate, she focuses on helping young people better understand themselves, their emotions and the patterns that may be affecting how they feel.

Her aim is to give each person the time and space to talk openly and make sense of what they’re experiencing.
