Dylan Pomietlo

Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, Client Services Director, and Clinical Lead

Dylan joined Teenage Mental Health in 2020, bringing a background in business, HR and organisational management. He now combines his role as Director of Client Services with therapeutic work as a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist.

Approachable and down-to-earth, Dylan is often one of the first members of the team young people, parents and professionals speak to when they contact TMH, helping them understand what support might be right for them and what happens next.

Experience

Dylan completed a Foundation Degree in Psychodynamics and Therapeutic Communication, followed by a BA in Therapeutic Communications and Therapeutic Organisations and an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.

At TMH, Dylan carries out assessments, provides therapy for children and teenagers and supports families throughout the process. As Director of Client Services, he also helps develop our service and build relationships with schools, health services and community organisations.

Dylan has worked with young people experiencing a broad range of struggles, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem and overwhelming emotions.

His background in Therapeutic Communications and Therapeutic Organisations also brings an additional area of expertise to TMH: helping organisations think more deeply about how they support emotional wellbeing. Dylan delivers training and workshops, as well as consultation, reflective practice and observational support for organisations working with children and young people.

Dylan also works closely with parents and carers, recognising how much family relationships can shape a young person’s emotional wellbeing.

Outside TMH, Dylan is a registered foster carer with Suffolk Fostering and Adoption Services and coaches a local junior running club as a UK Athletics-qualified Junior Coach. Both reflect his wider interest in the role relationships, community and supportive environments can play in young people’s wellbeing.

Dylan's approach

Dylan understands that children and teenagers don’t always have the words to explain what’s going on. Difficult feelings may instead come out through withdrawal, anger, anxiety, behaviour or feeling overwhelmed.

His style is warm, reflective and practical. He helps young people make sense of what they’re feeling without judgement, while gradually becoming more confident in recognising and expressing their emotions.

Whether he’s working directly with a young person, supporting their family or helping someone find the right support through TMH, Dylan aims to make the process feel clear, human and manageable from the outset.
